In June 2001 Dave Rushton, and his sons Chris and Tony, founded Sensory Sweep on the premise that there had to be a better way to develop games. Believing in the principal that good games could be developed on-time and within budget, Sensory Sweep set out to prove themselves.
Beginning with the Game Boy Color, Sensory Sweep cut their teeth on "E.T. Escape from Planet Earth". Success on this title led to more success on the Game Boy Advance, with such titles as "Yu Yu Hakusho" and "Capcom Classics."
Success on the Game Boy Color opened the door for Sensory Sweep to jump quickly onto the Nintendo DS. With 16 released titles, Sensory Sweep has developed more titles for the Nintendo DS than almost any other studio. These titles include such hits as "Need for Speed: Most Wanted", "Tiger Woods PGA Tour", "World Championship Poker: Deluxe Series", and "Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship."
By developing their own game engine and design tools, Sensory Sweep gave themselves a huge advantage on getting Nintendo DS titles on time and within budget.
Besides having killer Nintendo DS tech, Sensory Sweep now has developed a multi-platform game engine. This game engine and tool set empowers designers and artists, allowing them to put assets into a game, then move and adjust those assets and instantly see the results.
Sensory Sweep has released "Alvin & The Chipmunks" using this technology, and will complete 4 more titles in 2008 using the technology.
Poised on the threshold of a new age, in Videogame design, Sensory Sweep’s future is brighter then ever, with many big projects on their horizon. Sensory Sweep’s time has come, where the equation—Videogame Magic = Technology x Innovation x The Human Element—has become their formula for remarkable success, and has set the standard for the rest of the industry to strive for.
